Cyber security is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyber attacks generally access, change, and destroy sensitive information. Cyber attacks involve disturbing the normal process of business and extorting money from account users. What is the connection between cyber security and millenials? The connection is very simple millenials use technology all the time. We use cell phones, tablets, and social media apps. Therefore, it would only make sense that we are the generation that should invest in cyber security by earning certifications and teaching our peers the tools of cyber security. In my previous post I have encouraged millenials that want to leave the 9 to 5 life behind and pursue entrepreneurship. Cyber security professionals are valuable because they help create, plan, and carry out security measures to keep business infrastructure secure. Why are millenials not pursuing cyber security? Apparently millenials have been apprehensive about cyber security because there has been an assumption this profession requires a computer science degree. Millenials can start studying cyber security online and purchase courses from Udemy. Udemy is a website that allows millenials to have access to the five pillars of cyber security. Certified Information Systems Security ( CISS)- Certified Information Systems Security Professional- This certification has prepared cyber security professionals to have obtain intricate technical knowledge. This knowledge provides an individual with the insight to design, engineer, and manage the overall security posture of the organization.

II. E-C Council ( Ethical Hacking) – This certification is obtained by demonstrating knowledge of assessing the security of computer systems by looking for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems.

V. Global Information Assurance Certification- This certification allows managers to ensure job candidates possess in-depth technical skills. It allows IT professionals to obtain promotions.

How To Turn Your Cyber Security Skills Into A Business? If you have already earned one or more certifications then you can teach other people how to prepare for the certification exam. Additionally, you can teach people about the cyber security career path and provide tools. Those tools could be lectures, notes, books, audio, etc.
