“If you really want to be great at something you have to truly care about it. If you want to be great in a particular area, you have to obsess over it.” Kobe Bryant
As we continue to mourn the loss of Kobe Bryant. I wanted to share insight on his success as a businessman off the court. In 2013 three years before Kobe’s retirement from the NBA he co-founded a venture capital firm with Bryant Stibel and Jeff Stibel. Since then Kobe made amazing strides with his investments in Dell, Alibaba, Fortnite, Body Armor, and Coca Cola.
In 2016, Kobe founded Granity Studios, a media company that focuses on creative storytelling around sports. The company that released his short film “Dear Basketball” that won an Academy Award for best animated short film in 2018.
Utilizing The Mamba Brand
Kobe became a prominent endorser of NIKE (NKE) after the retirement Michael Jordan. Additionally, Kobe endorsed Mc Donald’s, Sprite, Nintendo (NTDOF) and Turkish Airlines. Kobe was one of the greatest athletes that ever lived. He honed his craft of basketball and allowed to manifest more streams of income. This just demonstrates his greatness. The lesson here is one should always be willing to reinvent his or herself. Kobe expanded his brand by his using competitive prowess.
